Following our Hermès Black Bag Collection Value and Breakdown, I’ve received a lot of questions about the color GOLD: a tan-buttery hue that was first popularized by Hermès muse Grace Kelly.

Hermès Gold Bags Collection Value & Availability Breakdown
Everyone has been interested in the collection value prices first so let's start with that!
1. What are the actual collection value prices of Gold Hermès bags in the various different styles and leathers types?
By now, if you have read our previous Birkin and Kelly reports, you know the drill: we excluded the lowest and highest price outliers, and averaged out all the actual listing prices for each model, size and leather in Gold. Keep in mind we only accounted for bags that are in new or excellent condition. (As always, all currencies are in USD).
Courchevel is often found with vintage bags similar to Box leather. I have a vintage Mini Kelly 20 in vintage Courchevel leather. It is often compared to Epsom, but it's a bit on the stiffer side with a shiny, scratch-resistant like texture. As you can see with my vintage gem, it holds up quite well, right?

💡Pro Tip: Leathers like Epsom and Courchevel have the pattern pressed into them in order to create the pattern and texture you feel. When buying pre-loved bags made from these materials always buy from verified sellers as these leathers are the easiest to replicate.
You've heard it here first, I think Bolide is going to become a hit. It is already super popular in Asia, and the collection value in Japan is generally 30% higher than the US. For example, the B27 is averaging $6-7K in Japan while it's only around $4K here.
🦈The Bolide 45has the highest collection value out of all the sizes likely because it makes such a great travel bag. It seems that the debut of the Bolide Shark 45 as part of the Hermès Fall 2016 Men’s Collection is responsible for the bag’s increase in popularity and collection value both among men and women.

Out of all the bag styles we’ve analyzed, the Garden Party has the smallest price difference (less than $200) between its sizes.
Overall, Taurillon Clemence is the most available leather on the preloved market, and is closely followed by Epsom. While both these leathers are durable, Taurillon Clemence is more soft and slouchy (the perfect leather for a casual, everyday bag), and Epsom is more stiff and structured.
2. How available are the different Hermès Leather types in Gold?
We analyzed all of the bags that are in-stock or sold on the preloved market, and here’s the actual amount of bags in Gold that we can find.
You might notice that there’s only a few bags available in Gold Box Calf. This is because Box Calf is often pre-dyed black making Gold Box Calf much more rare on the preloved market.
You may have heard of Vache Hunter before, this leather is most commonly used on the leather trim of the Hermès Herbag. After doing a bit of research here are some knowledge I’d love to pass on:
Not water resistant but can handle a few splashes of water here and there
It will “scratch like crazy,” but it is supposed to
It will patina: Vache Hunter will darken and develop a soft sheen with age and time

When comparing the number of leathers in Gold to the number of leathers in Noir, it is interesting to see that there is a fewer variety of leathers available in Gold. Not to worry! Gold comes in all the most popular Hermès leathers including:
Togo
Taurillon Clemence
Epsom
Swift
Evercolor
3. Which Hermès bag style is most commonly available in Gold?
Like we saw in our Hermès Black Bag Collection Value and Breakdown, the Hermès Evelyneis again the bag style that is most commonly available in Gold followed by the Birkin. With a lower price point, and practical features, the Evelyne makes for a great entry-level bag for anyone on-the-go. I happen to have one myself, and love it!
In terms of sizes, the Evelyne 16is most commonly available in Gold, followed by the Evelyne 29and the Birkin 35. Funnily enough, these results are identical to those of our Hermès Black Bag Collection Value and Breakdown. If you’re on the hunt for these bags in either Gold or Noir, you’re in luck!

4. Which hardware color is most available: Gold, Palladium or Rose Gold?
While we usually see an almost equal split between gold and palladium, I’m surprised to see that only 30% of Gold bags on the preloved market have Gold hardware. It’s no secret that Gold on Gold makes for a stunning color combination that is popular amongst us H lovers. Because gold on gold is so coveted, the reduced availability of this color combination reflects this.
You may need to hunt a little bit harder for your Gold on Gold unicorn (even more so for Rose Gold on Gold), but have faith!
